MICR Toner Cartridges

MICR Toner Cartridges

Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) toner cartridges are used by the banking industry for check processing.  Each cartridge is filled with a special toner, designed specifically to be used for printing the numbers at the bottom of checks; to include the bank routing number, account number and check.  The toner formula works jointly with a MICR font (E-13B). The MICR toner formula works jointly with a specialized MICR font known as E-13B to provide security to  the consumer as well as the banking institution.

MICR toner contains iron oxide which adds the magnetic properties to each character, enabling high-speed check clearing through high-capacity reader-sorter machines.
